Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to support maintenance operations in a power/industrial setting in the Philippines. The role focuses on preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance, safety compliance, and collaboration with engineers.

Responsibilities include attending planning meetings, servicing equipment such as turbines, pumps and valves, and documenting maintenance activities with accuracy.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Technician or equivalent in a heavy industrial environment.
• Certifications such as Pipe Fitting, Machinery Installation/Alignment/Repairs, Welding Technology, Valve Repairs, Conveyor Maintenance are preferred.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment commonly found in power plants (turbines, generators, pumps, valves, compressors).
• Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams and schematics; proficient with precision measuring instruments.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and safety-focused attitude.
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills; ability to document activities and reports.

Job description

Position Summary:

The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for the following Key Performance areas:

• Perform preventative and corrective Mechanical maintenance activities as per plant safety regulations, preventative maintenance plans and maintenance procedures.
• Attend planning and liaison meetings.
• Attends to equipment care and personal safety.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proven experience at least 3 years as a Mechanical Technician, Skilled Mechanic or equivalent in a similar power plant or heavy industrial environment.
• Holds technical skills certification such as Pipe Fitting, Machinery Installation/Alignment/Repairs, Welding Technology, Valve Repairs, Conveyor Maintenance. Graduate of any vocational, 4-year or Engineering course related to mechanical is an advantage.
• In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery commonly found in power plants, such as turbines, generators, pumps, valves, compressors, etc.
• Strong understanding of maintenance procedures, troubleshooting techniques, and repair methods. Proficiency in reading technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
• Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and alignment tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other technicians and engineers.
• Good communication skills and the ability to accurately document maintenance activities and reports.
