Job summary

The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, and delivery of innovative livestock handling and farm infrastructure solutions. This is a hands‑on engineering role working closely with sales, manufacturing, and customers from concept through to final installation.

The role emphasizes AutoCAD 2D/3D, strong manufacturing knowledge, and a collaborative approach across design, production, and sales to ensure efficiency, safety, and high quality outcomes in livestock

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of engineering principles including design, sketching, CAD, industrial materials, manufacturing methods, and processes.
• Proven creativity combined with solid technical expertise.
• Ability to cost projects and demonstrate strong materials knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills - visual, verbal, and written.
• Logically and technically minded with strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Energetic, enthusiastic, and self-motivated with a proactive approach to work.
• Strong knowledge of, or interest in, the agricultural and livestock sector.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate 2D and 3D manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD and related design tools.
• Communicate job requirements clearly and concisely to manufacturing and production teams.
• Design and layout farm buildings and livestock handling systems with a strong focus on animal flow, safety, and efficiency.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, specify components, and ensure compliance with engineering and performance specifications.
• Manage engineering projects in collaboration with the sales team, ensuring timely completion of project milestones.
• Work closely with sales on the design and layout of new customer projects.
• Liaise effectively with cross-functional internal teams, customers, and external suppliers.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across design, manufacturing, and processes.
