Job summary

Decad Asia Inc. in the Philippines seeks a fully experienced Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services) to join our growing team. The role supports UK-based projects and requires independent delivery of mechanical building services design.

This Work from Home arrangement includes ad-hoc Makati CBD office attendance for administration or coordination. A minimum of five years' experience and familiarity with UK Building Regulations and IES software are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of mechanical building services design experience.
• Experience with UK Building Regulations and CIBSE Design Guidelines.
• Strong experience using IntegratedEnvironmental Solutions (IES).
• Ability to plan and coordinate engineering project work to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, especially with UK-based teams.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical building services systems.
• Produce detailed mechanical design calculations using standard methods and software (IES, Bentley Hevacomp).
• Coordinate mechanical design across multidisciplinary teams.
• Quality review of project technical information and deliverables.
• Provide BIM support, including QA of Revit MEP models and CAD drawings.
• Communicate effectively with UK-based engineers and project teams.

Our Makati-based team works closely with experienced project teams in the UK, supporting the design and delivery of technically complex and prestigious projects across the UK and internationally.

About the Role

We are seeking a fully experienced Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services) to join our growing Philippines team.

This role is currently Work from Home, with attendance at the Makati CBD office required on an ad-hoc basis for administration or coordination.

You will have a minimum of 5 years’ industry experience and demonstrate the ability to independently deliver mechanical building services design while coordinating effectively within multidisciplinary project teams. You will support projects across multiple sectors and take an active role in maintaining strong working relationships with UK-based engineers.

Project Sectors

Role Responsibilities

• Design of mechanical building services systems
• Production of detailed mechanical design calculations using:
  • Manual calculation methods
  • Industry-standard software (IntegratedEnvironmental Solutions, Bentley Hevacomp)
• Coordination of mechanical design across multidisciplinary teams
• Quality review of project technical information and design deliverables
• Provide technical support to the BIM Manager, including:
  • QA review of Revit MEP models
  • QA review of CAD drawings
• Communicate effectively with UK-based engineers and project teams

Role Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in mechanical building services design
• Proven experience designing in accordance with UK Building Regulations and CIBSE Design Guidelines & Standards
• Strong experience using IntegratedEnvironmental Solutions (IES)
• Responsible for planning and coordinating engineering project work and design activities to ensure that project goals/objectives are accomplished within agreed deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly when coordinating with UK-based teams
