Job summary

Dominic and Sons Realty & Development Corporation is seeking a skilled Motorpool Mechanic to maintain and repair fleet vehicles and equipment. You will perform inspections, diagnose issues, and execute timely repairs to minimize downtime and extend asset life.

You will work with tools and diagnostic equipment to service engines, brakes, transmissions, and hydraulic systems, ensuring regulatory compliance and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in automotive repair preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, preferably within a fleet or motorpool setting.
• ASE certification or equivalent preferred.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing automotive systems.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to use diagnostic tools, power tools, and repair equipment.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality work.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on fleet vehicles, including engine overhauls, brake system repairs, transmission adjustments, and other critical systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Conduct repairs to ensure vehicles meet operational standards, including servicing and replacing worn parts like tires, belts, hoses, filters, and fluids.
• Follow all safety protocols and comply with company policies and regulatory requirements for vehicle maintenance.
• Ensure that all repairs and maintenance activities adhere to SOPs and safety guidelines.
• Keep updated with vehicle regulations, ensuring that vehicles meet road safety and emissions standards.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts replaced and hours worked.
• Track inventory of commonly used parts, tools, and supplies; order replacements as needed.
• Communicate with drivers and motorpool staff to gather information about vehicle performance issues.
• Assist in emergency breakdown situations, both on-site and in the field as necessary.

About the role

The Motorpool Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of vehicles and equipment within the motorpool.
