Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Materials Buyer/Planner to identify purchasing needs, forecast demand with internal teams, and negotiate with suppliers. The role emphasizes cost management, inventory control, and strong supplier performance reviews to ensure timely deliveries.

The candidate will create and track purchase orders, maintain purchase records, and collaborate across production and scoping.

Responsibilities

• Identify and determine the purchasing needs of the organization.
• Forecast demand with Scoping and Production to evaluate inventory levels and take internal orders.
• Negotiate with Suppliers.
• Perform cost management to identify areas for potential cost reduction and analyze pricing changes.
• Source materials using knowledge of current inventory levels.
• Create Purchase orders using defined purchasing protocols.
• Assist in the receipt of purchased materials and services, and keep detailed records of purchases and stocks.
• Carefully monitor deliveries and any past due shipments.
• Build relationships with suppliers and manage their performance.
• Conduct routine supplier business reviews, evaluating supplier performance and compliance.
• Other duties as needed.
