Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Strategic Sourcing
- Lead end-to-end procurement of direct and indirect materials (electronic components, mechanical parts, and equipment)
- Source, evaluate, and onboard qualified local and international suppliers aligned with technical and quality requirements
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings and favorable agreements
- Develop and maintain long-term supplier relationships to ensure stability and performance
- Conduct market checks and cost analysis to support strategic sourcing decisions
Production Support & Material Planning
- Ensure timely availability of materials to support production schedules and prevent line stoppages
- Work closely with Planning, Engineering, and Operations teams to align procurement with demand forecasts and MRP outputs
- Monitor critical materials, long lead-time items, and supply risks; implement mitigation plans (e.g., buffer stock, alternate sourcing)
- Support new product introductions (NPI) and engineering changes (ECO/ECN), including material transitions and phase-outs
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance based on delivery, quality, cost, and responsiveness
- Lead supplier reviews and implement corrective actions or improvement plans when needed
- Resolve supply issues, delays, and quality concerns in coordination with internal teams and suppliers
- Ensure supplier compliance with industry and regulatory standards (ISO, RoHS, REACH, etc.)
- Manage procurement activities involving import and export transactions
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, couriers, and customs brokers to ensure timely and cost-effective shipments
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of shipping and customs documentation
- Monitor shipment status and proactively address delays, discrepancies, or clearance issues
Inventory & Cost Control
- Support inventory planning and control to balance material availability and working capital efficiency
- Monitor stock levels, inventory turnover, and excess/obsolete risks
- Drive initiatives to reduce costs, improve lead times, and optimize inventory levels
- Track and manage purchase price variance (PPV) and cost-saving initiatives
Administrative & Compliance Management
- Maintain accurate and organized procurement, supplier, and logistics documentation (digital and physical)
- Ensure compliance with company policies, audit requirements, and regulatory standards
- Prepare procurement reports, cost analysis, and supplier performance summaries for management
- Support general administrative functions and contribute to process improvements and system enhancements
Cross-Functional Leadership & Coordination
- Act as a key liaison between Procurement, Engineering, Planning, Warehouse, Finance, and external partners
- Provide guidance and support to junior buyers or purchasing staff, if applicable
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes, systems, and supplier management
- Contribute to risk management and business continuity planning for supply chain operations
