Job summary

Net Pacific, Inc. is seeking a Material Engineer based in Capas, Tarlac for a full-time role. You will oversee selection, testing, and optimization of civil construction materials to meet specifications and quality standards.

You will work with structural engineers and project managers, perform material tests on concrete, steel and aggregates, and prepare reports for regulatory compliance. Travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in material testing, quality control, or material engineering within construction/structural industry.
• Knowledge of concrete, steel, aggregates and other civil materials.
• Familiarity with ASTM or Philippine national standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret test data.

About the role

We are seeking a Material Engineer to join Net Pacific, Inc. in a full-time capacity, based in Capas, Tarlac. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for the selection, testing, and optimisation of materials used in our civil and structural engineering projects. You will play a crucial part in ensuring that all materials meet the required specifications, quality standards, and performance criteria, whilst contributing to the overall success of our engineering initiatives and project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct material selection and sourcing activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards
• Perform material testing and analysis, including mechanical, physical, and chemical tests on construction materials such as concrete, steel, and aggregates
• Prepare comprehensive material test reports and documentation for project records and regulatory compliance
• Collaborate with structural engineers and project managers to identify material requirements and resolve material-related technical issues
• Monitor and inspect material quality during delivery and on-site storage to prevent degradation or contamination
• Maintain accurate records of material certifications, test results, and supplier information
• Provide technical recommendations on material alternatives and cost-effective solutions that maintain engineering integrity
• Liaise with suppliers and external testing laboratories to ensure timely delivery of materials and test results
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to material performance and sustainability practices

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• Proven experience in material testing, quality control, or material engineering within the construction or structural engineering industry
• Sound knowledge of construction materials including concrete, steel, aggregates, and other materials used in civil engineering projects
• Familiarity with relevant testing standards and procedures, such as ASTM or Philippine national standards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret test data and make technical recommendations
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills to manage material documentation and records
• Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and testing instruments
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Experience with material management software or quality assurance systems is advantageous
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required
