Job summary

Philippine SteelFraming Construction and Development Corporation is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join our San Fernando team in Pampanga. You will design steel-framed structures, perform calculations and ensure code compliance throughout project delivery.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil/Structural Engineering degree, PE license, 3–5 years’ experience, and proficiency in STAAD Pro, SAP2000, and ETABS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related discipline.
• PE licence or equivalent qualification in structural engineering.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in structural design, preferably within steel-frame construction or commercial/industrial building projects.
• Proficiency in STAAD Pro, SAP2000, ETABS or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed structural designs and calculations for steel-framed projects using industry-standard software.
• Prepare comprehensive structural drawings, plans and specifications in accordance with building codes and standards.
• Conduct structural analysis and stress calculations to ensure designs meet safety, performance and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with architects, civil engineers and project managers to integrate structural designs with overall project requirements.
• Review and approve shop drawings and fabrication details submitted by steel contractors and suppliers.
• Perform site inspections and provide technical support during construction to ensure structural integrity and compliance with design specifications.
• Identify and resolve structural design issues and technical challenges during project execution.
• Maintain accurate documentation of design calculations, drawings and project specifications.
• Stay updated on changes to building codes, design standards and construction best practices.

About the role

We are seeking a talented Structural Design Engineer to join Philippine SteelFraming Construction and Development Corporation. This is a full-time position based in San Fernando, Pampanga, where you will play a crucial role in the design and technical development of structural systems for our construction projects. As a Structural Design Engineer, you will be responsible for creating innovative and cost-effective structural solutions that meet safety standards, regulatory requirements and project specifications. This position is integral to our project delivery process and directly impacts the quality and success of our construction endeavours.

Key responsibilities

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline

• Professional Engineering (PE) licence or equivalent qualification in structural engineering

• Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in structural design, preferably within steel-frame construction or commercial/industrial building projects

• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as STAAD Pro, SAP2000, ETABS or similar programmes

• Strong knowledge of building codes, safety standards and regulatory requirements applicable to construction in the Philippines

• Excellent drafting and technical drawing skills using CAD software (AutoCAD or similar)

• Ability to perform complex structural calculations and engineering analysis

• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams

• Attention to detail and commitment to quality in all design deliverables

• Problem-solving ability and capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Experience with steel structure design and fabrication is highly desirable
