About the role
The iPeople Market Research Manager will lead the development of a centralized market research and market intelligence capability serving the iPeople education portfolio. The role is responsible for generating actionable insights that improve student recruitment and conversion, guide market and program expansion, strengthen competitive positioning, and support strategic and commercial decision-making across iPeople schools. The Market Research Manager will work closely with school marketing teams, admissions and enrollment teams, academic leaders, strategy teams, and senior management to translate business questions into research programs and research findings into specific management actions. A key mandate of the position is to create greater efficiency and consistency in how market research is conducted across iPeople, while developing an institutional knowledge base that enables cross-school learning and longitudinal analysis.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and manage the annual iPeople market research agenda based on the highest-priority business questions across the portfolio
- Establish common research methodologies, standards, questionnaires, sampling approaches, reporting formats, and research governance across iPeople schools
- Develop ongoing research to understand the student recruitment and enrollment funnel and lead conversion-failure research among prospects, applicants, accepted students, and other relevant segments
- Identify primary reasons for conversion loss and translate findings into actionable recommendations for marketing, admissions, enrollment management, scholarships, pricing, and student experience teams
- Establish regular research among newly enrolled students to understand reasons for choosing the school and program, key decision criteria, competing schools considered, sources of awareness and influence, and the overall enrollment decision journey
- Support management evaluation of new geographic markets, campuses, student segments, and other expansion opportunities by developing market attractiveness frameworks
- Partner with academic and business teams in evaluating proposed academic programs and develop standardized research protocols for evaluating proposed programs
- Build and maintain a centralized database of relevant market information including student demographics, education participation trends, geographic market data, economic indicators, and employment trends
- Develop a systematic competitive intelligence program covering key competitors across iPeople markets, monitoring programs, pricing, positioning, marketing communications, and strategic developments
- Design quantitative and qualitative research projects, manage research agencies and external data providers, and produce concise, decision-oriented reports for school leadership and iPeople management
About you
- 5–8+ years in market research, consumer insights, market intelligence, analytics or related fields
- Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills
- Ability to turn data into clear business insights and recommendations
- Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills
- Comfortable influencing and presenting to senior stakeholders
- A lifelong learner who is curious about emerging research methods and actively uses AI to improve research productivity, speed and quality of insights
- Experience in education is an advantage, but not required
