Job summary

Qualifications

• 4+ years of procurement experience, preferably in shipping/maritime.
• Strong English speaking and written skills.
• Experience in ship management as Buyer or Senior Buyer is desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and PARIS.
• Ability to lead a team and supervise Buyers.
• Willingness to learn new IT systems and drive change.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead procurement strategy and supervise Buyers.
• Collect and document technical information from vessels, workshops, and vendors.
• Ensure timely invoice clearance and prepayment remittances.
• Monitor costs and requisition compliance with financial standards.
• Guide quotations, vendor selection, and logistics to secure best value.
• Oversee weekly reports of overdue invoices and improve cash flow.
• Develop a vendor list for spares and services to optimize the supply chain.
• Mentor a team of Buyers and promote collaboration.
• Lead new procedures and drive process improvements.
• Train buyers on Office 365 and procurement systems.
