Job summary

Arabelle Solutions seeks a Lead Welding Trainer to coordinate welding qualification and training in our training school for Steam Turbine and Generator components, Services/Retrofit projects, and for the production shop. The role ensures skilled personnel are available for fabrication work and aligns with customer/document requirements.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Production/Fabrication or Welding.
• Hands-on welding experience including GMAW and GTAW.
• Knowledge of welding machine configuration and advanced welding machines.
• Familiar with Welding Qualification codes (ASME IX, ASTM, EN).
• Experience in training and coaching welders.

Responsibilities

• Lead welding qualification and training monitoring in the training school for Steam Turbine and Generator components and for Services/Retrofit projects.
• Coach welders to enhance skills and train new batches to become qualified welders.
• Monitor qualification periods and arrange re-qualification as per codes and customer specs; train Welder I and Welder Operator as required.
• Develop new welding techniques and joint configurations with the welding engineering team for productivity and quality.
• Identify training needs, drive automation and standardization, develop SOPs, and prepare technical documents/training videos; ensure safety compliance and daily progress reporting.

Job description

Lead & Drive and coordinate the welding qualification and training monitoring in training school for Steam Turbine and Generator New Build components as well as for Services/Retrofit Projects. To ensure desired skilled force is deputed on production shop to execution fabrication related work. Understanding of Nuclear & Services Projects Customer Mindset and able to cascade the requirements within organization. Ensure all customer documentation are ready inline with Project Requirement for welder qualifications. Coach welders to enhance or acquire new welding skills & train new fresh batch of persons to convert to skilled & qualified welders.

Monitor qualification period, welder continuity records & arrange for re-qualification as desired by codes & customer specifications. Impart Training and Qualification of Welder I Welding Operator to satisfy AMSE / BS / IBR /ENor as per the requirement of the client. Assist shop by monitoring performance of Welder I welding operator and arranging training whenever required. Development of new welding technique, procedure, joint configuration along with welding engineering team for productivity & quality improvements.

Identify training needs of the team based on the skill assessment and new project requirement. Active participation and join the drive to upgrade welding techniques and processes towards automation and standardization. Devleop SOP’s for visual management as well as training purpose. Prepare, lead and drive detailed technical documents, videos (wherever possible as demonstration) for welding training for all applicable scope. Active participation in digitizing all the data point of welding training for welders qualification and all the history as well as future planning. Adhere to safety standards and adapt Arabelle Solutions Safety, Ethics & compliance rules. Lead and drive daily management system with clear reporting of daily progress.

Basic Qualifications(requirements):

• Diploma in Production/Fabrication or Welding


• Experience gained on job during professional journey


• Hands on experience in welding with GMAW,GTAW & other welding process


• Knowledge of welding machine configuration & different functions of advance welding machines


• Basic Knowledge of Welding Qualification codes like ASME sec. IX, ASTM or EN codes associated with welder qualification.

Desired Qualifications:

• Basic Knowledge of material science, DT, NDT, heat treatment.


• Communication, people management Skills, especially with welders & new fresh ITIs
