Job summary

PeopleStrong is seeking a Welding Inspection specialist to ensure quality and compliance across welding operations. You will evaluate welding procedures, verify material weldability, and monitor workmanship to meet international standards.

The role requires strong knowledge of GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW, and welding overlays, plus the ability to read fabrication drawings and perform root cause analysis. Training and qualification of welders are part of the duties.

Qualifications

• Understanding and experience with AWS D1.1, ASME, API, and international customer specifications.
• Analyzing and troubleshooting GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW, and welding overlays.
• Root cause analysis and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to interpret structural, vessel, and piping fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of welding metallurgy for carbon steel, stainless steel, alloys.
• Awareness of basic NDT techniques.
• Qualification and approval of welding procedures before fabrication begins.
• Welder training and qualification prior to project start.
• Correct welding consumables selection and site performance.
• Availability of welding consumables before fabrication with minimal inventory.
