• Strong understanding of stainless-steel welding metallurgy.
• Hands-on experience with EBW, LBW, GTAW, and furnace processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent technical communication skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new processes, technologies, and materials.

About the Role:

Our client is looking for a technically driven Welding Engineer to provide engineering leadership and technical support for manufacturing operations. The role focuses on developing and improving welding, brazing, and assembly processes, troubleshooting production issues, improving process efficiency, and ensuring that welding procedures meet industry standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and document welding and brazing processes, procedures, and work instructions.
• Provide day-to-day technical support to manufacturing and welding operations.
• Analyze welding processes, troubleshoot defects, and identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
• Develop and apply complex welding specifications based on industry standards and customer requirements.
• Develop robust and repeatable joining procedures for high-precision components.
• Work with advanced welding technologies such as GTAW, Laser Beam Welding (LBW), Electron Beam Welding (EBW), and brazing/furnace processes.
• Prepare and maintain weld qualification reports, Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS), and work instructions.
• Support quality control activities and manufacturing projects.
• Conduct research and development related to welding processes and welding metallurgy.
• Provide technical training and guidance to operations teams and customers when required.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve welding technology, processes, and manufacturing performance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Mechanical/Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or equivalent technical work experience.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in welding engineering or similar metal product processing.
• Experience in welding process development and/or welding metallurgy research and development.
• Strong technical understanding of stainless-steel welding metallurgy.
• Hands-on experience developing or using welding procedures for EBW, LBW, GTAW, and/or furnace processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent technical communication skills.
• Resourceful, creative, proactive, and able to take initiative.
• Ability to quickly adapt to new processes, technologies, and materials.
• Strong interest in advancing welding technologies and manufacturing processes.

Preferred Qualification:

A Master's degree in Welding, Metallurgical, or Materials Engineering from an ABET-accredited program/university is preferred.
