Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in machine shop or manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Lean, SPC and Six Sigma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, cycle time and cost.
• Assist product launches meeting PDP Gate 6 timelines.
• Collaborate with local and overseas teams to raise standards and capability.
• Interface with customers on process-related activities.
• Analyze operations and deploy solutions to optimize manufacturing processes.
• Execute strategies from department and factory objectives.
• Qualify new production equipment and optimize tooling.
• Develop and scale DOE-based process improvements through trials.
• Support design and fabrication of fixtures and gauges.
• Prepare reports on quality and execution, e.g., 8D, SPC data.
• Administer the company’s Quality policy per corporate standards.

Job description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1. Supports continuous improvement efforts and systemic actions to improve our manufacturing quality, efficiency, cycle time and cost through Lean manufacturing, SPC & Six Sigma methodology.
• 2. Supports and executes the launch of products to be manufactured in a time-bound manner that have successfully met our Product Transfer criteria (e.g. PDP Gate 6).
• 3. Collaborates with Internal departments (local and oversea) to enhance our manufacturing standards and capability (e.g. manufacturing improvements, product transfers, DFM).
• 4. Interfaces with customers (Internal and External) on manufacturing process related activities.
• 5. Optimizes and ensures continuous operation through our manufacturing processes. Analyze and deploy solutions to Operations.
• 6. Executes the strategies defined in departmental and factory objectives.
• 7. Performs qualification of new production equipment/processes, Optimizing machine capabilities through upgrades and tooling selection.
• 8. Develops and scales up process improvements from DOE by conducting trials and experiments to test and refine processes.
• 9. Supports manufacturing in the design, development and fabrication of fixtures, inspection jigs, prototypes, gauges, etc.
• 10. Analyzes and prepares reports related to manufacturing quality and execution e.g. rework details, 8D, one-point lesson, shop clock analysis, SPC data etc.
• 11. Administers the company’s Quality policy according to corporate standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

B.S. in Manufacturing Engineering or other engineering discipline or closely related technical field of study will be considered.

At least two (2) years of combined work experience in machine shop or manufacturing environment.
