Job summary

Mahindra And Mahindra Ltd. seeks a BE-qualified professional to drive procurement cost optimization and PPAP/APQP-based part development. You will study drawings for manufacturability, plan vendor development, and prepare CIR inputs to meet time, cost and quality objectives.

You will coordinate with design teams, conduct vendor analysis, support pricing with costing of components, and ensure MRD and MPDS gateways are achieved while delivering first-time-right parts.

Qualifications

• BE degree in relevant field with 3 years experience.
• PPAP, APQP, SPC, and problem-solving skills required.
• Knowledge of SAP MM; MS Office and commercial tax concepts.

Responsibilities

• Study drawings to confirm manufacturability.
• Plan development/procurement with vendors within time, cost and quality.
• Prepare customer input requirements (CIR).
• Vendor analysis and capacity planning; time frame agreements.
• Ensure material and tooling costs stay within budgeted values.
• Support pricing with component costing and detailed costing of parts.
• Coordinate with design team to ensure first-time-right delivery and end delivery of product.
• Track variance at each stage for quality, cost and delivery and drive corrective actions.
• Develop and implement cost-reduction approaches.
• Assess/negotiate investments for tooling and vendor aid for parts development.
• Support pricing cell in vendor selection per policy.
• Meet MRD targets and MPDS gateways; participate in feasibility studies.

Description of the job and key result areas:

• Â To study the received drawing and to confirm the manufacturability
• Â Draw up a plan to develop/procure components with vendors within time, cost and quality objectives
• Â To prepare customer input requirements (CIR)
• Â Vendor analysis and rationalization for capacity assessment, time frame agreement
• Â To ensure the material and tooling cost are settled within the budgeted values
• Â To support pricing cell in cost estimation activities component wise and details costing of the components/new part
• Â Effective co-ordination with the Design team to ensure first time right and end delivery of product
• Â Variance analysis at each stage of development in terms of Quality, Cost and Delivery and corrective action
• Â Developing and implementing innovative approaches in cost reduction
• Â To assess / negotiate investments involved for toolingÂs / vendor aid requirement for components development
• Â To support the pricing cell in selection of vendor as per guiding policy for the part
• Â To meet MRD (Material Receipt Date) targets
• Â To meet the Gateways as per MPDS (Mahindra Product Development System) targets for projects.
• Â To get actively involved in project feasibility studies
• Â Responsible for quality, Cost and delivery (QCD) targets for all new products and improvements in existing products
• Â Support STA counterpart in part development as per APQP process and Project timelines

Knowledge/Skills Required

• PPAP, New Part Development System (MP, EP, VP, PP), APQP, SPC, and Problem-solving techniques
