Private Advertiser in Manila seeks a Manager, Captive Insurance Accounting to lead a team responsible for end-to-end accounting and financial reporting of captive programs globally. The role drives accuracy, timeliness, and compliance within the Global Finance Shared Services Center in Manila.
You will own the close processes, oversee GAAP and statutory reporting, and partner with auditors and cross-functional teams to strengthen controls and processes.
About the role
The Manager, Captive Insurance Accounting leads a team of professionals responsible for the end-to-end accounting and financial reporting of the company's captive insurance programs and obligor structures across multiple global regions. Operating within the Global Finance Shared Services Center (FSSC) in Manila, this role owns the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of captive accounting processes — from premium recognition and reserve analysis to reinsurance reporting and regulatory compliance. As a people leader, the Manager is accountable for building, coaching, and scaling a high-performing team, establishing and enforcing SLAs, driving continuous process improvement, and serving as the primary accounting liaison for cross-functional stakeholders including Program Management, FP&A, Legal, and external auditors. This is a strategic yet detail-oriented role: the right candidate leads through others while maintaining command of the numbers.
Key responsibilities
Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close for all captive insurance entities, ensuring deadlines are met across all regions.
Review and approve general ledger entries, account reconciliations, and analytical schedules covering reserves, third-party settlements, and intercompany transactions.
Oversee GAAP and statutory financial reporting for captive entities; ensure accurate premium recognition and loss reserve development accounting in accordance with ASC 944.
Understand customer contract pricing structures and validate that pricing flows accurately through captive financials.
Administer and monitor the financial system to ensure ledger accounts are maintained with accuracy and timeliness.
Develop, maintain, and continuously strengthen internal controls across captive accounting processes.
Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory guidelines, and applicable GAAP and statutory accounting standards.
Serve as a key liaison with internal and external auditors; coordinate audit schedules, respond to inquiries, and drive timely remediation of any control gaps.
Lead the on-time and successful transition of regional and global captive accounting functions to the Manila team.
Attract, develop, and retain a high-performing team through structured coaching, performance management, and succession planning.

Strong working knowledge of US GAAP (ASC 944) and statutory accounting principles applicable to captive insurance structures.
Experience establishing or operating within an SLA-driven shared services framework, including KPI design and performance reporting.
Demonstrated ability to manage month-end close processes across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
Experience with Finance systems (Microsoft, OneStream) and financial reporting tools.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional certification (preferred).
Exposure to domestic and international captive insurance structures (pure captive, cell captive, rent-a-captive) (preferred).
Experience with SOX control environments and serving as audit liaison (preferred).
