Job summary

Outpost Hostel Inc. seeks an enthusiastic Maintenance member to be the Social Support System, ensuring comfort and safety across dorms, common areas, and services. You respond to guest and staff reports, fix issues quickly, and keep the space Instagram-ready with daily upkeep.

In this role you’ll assist the Maintenance Head with painting, basic plumbing and electrical tasks, while staying approachable and keeping the workshop organized for fast, friendly service in a dynamic hostel environment.

Qualifications

• Basic skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or general handiwork.
• Can-do attitude and the ability to work around guests without disrupting the social vibe.
• Capable of handling a dynamic, active environment.

Responsibilities

• Rapid Response: React quickly to guest and staff reports and fix issues with a smile.
• Communal Upkeep: Daily checks of high-traffic areas including ensuring the pool is sparkling and lounge areas are in good condition.
• Proactive Repairs: Assist the Maintenance Head with painting, basic plumbing, and electrical tasks to keep the property Instagram-ready.
• Guest Interaction: Be approachable and friendly while working in common areas to help guests feel at home.
• Tool & Shop Care: Keep the maintenance workshop organized and safe, ensuring you always have the right tool to get the job done.

As an Outpost Maintenance , you are the"Social Support System." You are the problem-solver who keeps the hostel running. You understand that a broken Wi-Fi router or a warm beer fridge is a "social emergency," and you take pride in being the person who saves the day for the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Rapid Response:React quickly to guest and staff reports. If a light is out in a dorm or a shower is cold, you fix it with a smile, knowing that comfort leads to connection.

• Communal Upkeep:Daily checks of the high-traffic areas. You make sure the pool is sparkling, the bar equipment is humming, and the lounge furniture is sturdy.

• Proactive Repairs:Assist the Maintenance Head in daily tasks like painting, basic plumbing, and electrical work to keep the property looking "Instagram-ready."

• Guest Interaction:While working in common areas, be approachable. A friendly "Good morning" while you’re fixing a deck chair helps guests feel that they are in a cared-for home.

• Tool & Shop Care:Keep the maintenance workshop organized and safe, ensuring you always have the right tool to get the job done fast.
