Job summary

Coherent Corp. in the Philippines is seeking a hands-on production operator to operate and set up manufacturing machinery onsite in a fast-paced environment. You will monitor operations, perform inspections, document defects, and maintain records to uphold quality standards.

The role requires 1–3 years in manufacturing or a related field, with leadership potential to guide a small team and coordinate with cross-functional staff while enforcing safety and lean practices.

Qualifications

• A college undergraduate or its equivalents with at least 1–3 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing or machine operation (functional skills). Alternatively, a technical/vocational diploma with equivalent hands-on experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for operating, setting up, and monitoring production machines to ensure efficient and safe operation.
• Responsible for performing in-process and final inspections to verify product quality against specifications and standards.
• Responsible for identifying, documenting, and reporting defects or non-conformities during production.
• Responsible for maintaining accurate production and inspection records.
• Responsible for routine machine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating repairs when necessary.
• Lead and manage machine operations within assigned workstation to meet production targets and quality requirements.
• Lead and manage adherence to safety procedures and participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Education & Experience

• A college undergraduate or its equivalents with at least 1–3 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing or machine operation (functional skills). (Alternatively, a technical/vocational diploma with equivalent hands‑on experience may be considered.)

Working Conditions

• This role is 100% onsite in a manufacturing/production environment.
• Requires standing for extended periods, operating machinery, and handling materials.
• May involve exposure to noise, heat, or moving mechanical parts while following safety protocols.
