Job summary

Lean Solutions Group is seeking a Freight Brokerage Associate to manage high-volume outreach, carrier relations, and rate negotiations. You will source shipper accounts, match freight with carriers, and use McLeod TMS daily to log and track shipments.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in freight brokerage or 3PL, strong negotiation and communication skills, and familiarity with DAT/Truckstop load boards. You will thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in freight brokerage, carrier sales, dispatching, or 3PL.
• Hands-on proficiency with McLeod Software (TMS).
• Familiarity with DAT and Truckstop load boards.
• Solid understanding of the trucking market, lanes, capacity trends and freight rate fluctuations.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high-volume outreach: 100 calls and 50 load/capacity postings per day.
• Source and onboard new shipper accounts via cold calling, referrals, and targeted outreach.
• Source, onboard, and develop relationships with trucking companies and owner-operators.
• Match freight with carrier partners based on service quality, equipment, and cost.
• Leverage load boards (DAT, Truckstop) and internal systems to expand carrier network.
• Negotiate rates and lanes to maximize profitability and capacity.
• Coordinate and schedule shipments with on-time pickup and delivery.
• Utilize McLeod Software (TMS) daily to log, post, and track loads.
• Maintain real-time data in McLeod for tracking shipments and resolving delays.
• Ensure freight documentation (rate confirmations, BOLs, invoices) is processed and stored.
• Verify carrier compliance for safety, insurance, and regulatory standards prior to booking.
• Monitor market conditions and capacity trends; collaborate with accounting for billing and payments.
