The Carrier Sales Representative plays a vital role in supporting our field agents across all aspects of their day-to-day operations. In this role, you will build and nurture key partner relationships between our independent agents and internal office staff, serving as the connective tissue that keeps our logistics network running smoothly. From agent onboarding and training to carrier compliance, database management, and operational troubleshooting, you will ensure our agents have the tools, guidance, and support they need to succeed.
Onboarding & Training: Onboard and train new independent agents on internal software platforms, company policies, and operational procedures.
Ongoing Guidance: Provide continuous training, troubleshooting, and daily operational support for agents and field staff.
Business Development Assistance: Consult and collaborate with agents to help them bring on new business and expand their portfolio.
Specialized Move Support: Offer guidance and hands-on support for complex or unfamiliar transportation loads.
Central Liaison: Act as the primary intermediary for all operational inquiries between field agents and internal office staff.
Database Maintenance: Update and maintain accurate carrier profiles within the Transportation Management System (TMS) and carrier onboarding platforms.
Data Entry & Compliance: Manage data entry for new carrier setups, rate overrides, and compliance verifications.
Risk & Claims Management: Oversee insurance tracking and assist with carrier claims management.
Accounting Support: Assist Accounts Receivable (A/R) with processing load contracts for timely invoicing.
Paperwork Resolution: Collaborate with the Finance department to collect and resolve any overdue agent paperwork.
Fuel Surcharge (FSC) Reporting: Maintain and update the weekly FSC report for release every Tuesday (or as pricing updates), incorporating leadership quotes and market profiles.
After-Hours Network Support: Provide scheduled after-hours support to the network to resolve urgent, time-sensitive issues.
Experience: Previous experience in freight brokerage, carrier sales, logistics coordination, or transportation customer service preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Transportation Management Systems (TMS), carrier onboarding tools, and standard office software (MS Excel, Word, Outlook).
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer-service mindset.
Problem-Solving: Strong ability to multitask, troubleshoot unexpected issues on the fly, and navigate unfamiliar freight moves.
Detail-Oriented: High accuracy in data entry, compliance management, and financial paperwork tracking.
Flexibility: Willingness to provide periodic after-hours support to maintain continuous network operations.
