Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day logistics operations (transportation, warehousing, distribution, delivery).
• Develop and implement efficient logistics strategies aligned with company objectives.
• Ensure timely movement of raw materials, packaging, supplies, and finished products.
• Monitor logistics activities and resolve operational issues promptly.
• Establish procedures to improve logistics efficiency and reduce costs.
• Plan and coordinate deliveries from plant/warehouse to stores, branches, customers, and other locations.
• Develop efficient delivery routes and schedules.
• Monitor delivery vehicles and utilization; coordinate with drivers and third-party providers.
• Oversee warehouse operations: receiving, storage, handling, and releasing materials/products with proper FIFO/FEFO for perishable items.
• Coordinate with departments to manage inventory levels, shortages, and discrepancies; ensure accurate records.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and safety of food products; maintain appropriate temperatures.
• Monitor fleet condition, preventive maintenance, and costs; ensure proper vehicle documentation.
• Prepare and monitor logistics budget; seek cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Lead logistics personnel, schedule work, monitor performance and provide training.
• Coordinate with Production, Purchasing, Sales, and Finance to align logistics with demand and orders.
• Provide regular KPI-based performance reports to Top Management and drive continuous improvements.

Job description

1. Logistics Operations Management

• Oversee the company’s day-to-day logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, distribution, and delivery.

• Develop and implement efficient logistics strategies aligned with company objectives.

• Ensure timely and accurate movement of raw materials, packaging materials, supplies, and finished products.

• Monitor logistics activities and resolve operational issues promptly.

• Establish procedures to improve logistics efficiency and reduce operational costs.

2. Transportation and Delivery Management

• Plan and coordinate deliveries from the manufacturing plant or warehouse to stores, branches, customers, and other company locations.

• Develop efficient delivery routes and schedules.

• Monitor delivery vehicles and ensure proper utilization.

• Coordinate with drivers, riders, third-party logistics providers, and other transportation partners.

• Monitor delivery performance, delays, vehicle utilization, and transportation costs.

• Ensure products are delivered safely, accurately, and within the required timeframe.

3. Warehouse Management

• Oversee warehouse operations and ensure proper receiving, storage, handling, and releasing of materials and products.

• Ensure proper organization and utilization of warehouse space.

• Implement proper FIFO/FEFO practices, particularly for food products and perishable materials.

• Ensure proper storage conditions to maintain product quality and safety.

• Monitor warehouse productivity, accuracy, and efficiency.

4. Inventory Management

• Coordinate with Warehouse, Purchasing, Production, Sales, and Operations regarding inventory requirements.

• Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, packaging materials, finished products, and supplies.

• Ensure accurate inventory records and proper documentation.

• Minimize stock shortages, overstocking, spoilage, damages, and inventory losses.

• Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.

5. Food Product Handling and Safety

• Ensure proper handling, transportation, and storage of food products.

• Maintain appropriate temperature and storage conditions for temperature-sensitive products.

• Ensure compliance with company food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures.

• Coordinate with Quality Assurance regarding damaged, expired, spoiled, or non-conforming products.

• Ensure that products are protected from contamination and damage during transportation and storage.

6. Fleet and Vehicle Management

• Monitor the condition, availability, and utilization of company delivery vehicles.

• Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs of logistics vehicles.

• Ensure vehicles are properly documented and maintained.

• Monitor fuel consumption, mileage, repair expenses, and vehicle operating costs.

• Implement measures to improve vehicle efficiency and minimize unnecessary expenses.

7. Logistics Cost Management

• Prepare and monitor the logistics budget.

• Control transportation, fuel, warehouse, maintenance, and other logistics-related expenses.

• Identify opportunities to reduce logistics costs without compromising service quality.

• Monitor and analyze logistics expenses and recommend cost-saving measures.

8. Team Management

• Lead, supervise, and manage logistics personnel, including drivers, warehouse personnel, and other assigned staff.

• Prepare work schedules and manpower assignments based on operational requirements.

• Monitor attendance, productivity, performance, and discipline.

• Provide training and coaching on proper logistics, warehouse, safety, and food-handling procedures.

• Ensure employees follow company policies and standard operating procedures.

9. Coordination with Other Departments

• Coordinate closely with Production regarding finished goods availability and production schedules.

• Coordinate with Purchasing regarding incoming raw materials and supplies.

• Coordinate with Sales and Operations regarding store and customer delivery requirements.

• Work with Finance and Administration regarding logistics expenses and documentation.

• Maintain effective communication with all departments to ensure smooth operations.

10. Performance Monitoring and Reporting

• Monitor logistics KPIs such as on-time delivery, delivery accuracy, transportation costs, vehicle utilization, inventory accuracy, and warehouse efficiency.

• Prepare regular logistics performance reports for Top Management.

• Analyze operational data and identify areas for improvement.

• Investigate delivery, inventory, warehouse, and transportation issues and implement corrective actions.
