Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, optimize, and oversee imports/exports in North America.
• Coordinate international shipments (FTL/LTL/FCL/LCL) and multimodal transport.
• Ensure timely customs clearance and monitor on-time deliveries.
• Communicate shipment status and resolve issues during transit.
• Verify shipment documentation accuracy.
• Manage relationships with carriers and 3PLs.
• Prepare KPI reports and propose corrective actions.
• Develop SOPs and drive process improvements to reduce lead times and costs.
• Coordinate insurance claims when applicable.
• Collaborate with Planning, Purchasing, Sales, Warehouse, International Trade, and Finance.
• Review supplier invoices and monitor payment status.
• Process payments to shipping lines and logistics operators for U.S. shipments.

Job description

Coordinate, optimize, and oversee import and export logistics operations for BekaertDeslee within the North America region, ensuring operational efficiency and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Coordinate international shipments (FTL, LTL, FCL, LCL, and multimodal transportation) across the region in accordance with negotiated Incoterms

Ensure the timely execution of import and export customs clearance processes

Monitor on-time deliveries and proactively communicate shipment status to internal and external customers, while resolving any issues before, during, or after transit (delays, storage charges, damages, shortages, etc.)

Verify that all shipment documentation is accurate and complete

Manage relationships with carriers and third-party logistics providers (3PLs)

Prepare KPI reports to evaluate internal and supplier performance and propose corrective and preventive actions

Develop SOPs for the logistics area and implement process improvements, including route analysis and material consolidation to reduce lead times and costs

Coordinate insurance claims when applicable

Collaborate with Planning, Purchasing, Sales, Warehouse, International Trade, and Finance teams to ensure proper alignment and execution of logistics processes

Review and approve supplier invoices based on agreed rate schedules and monitor payment status

Process payments to shipping lines and logistics operators related to shipments from the U.S. business unit

Generate ground and air waybills for courier and parcel shipments

Request quotations for urgent transportation services and LCL shipments

Stay up to date with changes in transportation regulations and compliance requirements

Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, International Trade, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position
• ERP and Business Intelligence (BI) systems
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Transportation regulatory and compliance requirements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
