Job summary

Villaraza & Angangco is seeking a Litigation Associate for its Taguig office. You will handle civil, commercial, and special proceedings, drafting pleadings and court submissions under senior lawyers’ guidance.

You will conduct legal and factual research, coordinate with courts, government agencies, and clients, and manage case files and timelines to support efficient progression of matters. This is a full-time, on-site role requiring regular collaboration.

Qualifications

Role Description

The Litigation Associate will handle a range of civil, commercial, and special proceedings, working closely with senior lawyers on case strategy and execution. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting pleadings, motions, and other court submissions; conducting legal and factual research; and assisting in the preparation for hearings, trials, and depositions. The role also involves coordinating with courts, government agencies, and clients, as well as managing case files and timelines to support efficient case progression. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Taguig, requiring regular in-person collaboration with colleagues and participation in client and court engagements.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Law, particularly in civil, commercial, and procedural law, with the ability to apply legal principles to complex fact patterns.


• Proficiency in preparing Motions and other pleadings, including drafting, reviewing, and revising advocacy documents under time-sensitive conditions.


• Advanced Research skills, including case law, statutory, and regulatory research, as well as factual investigation and document review.


• Experience or training related to Depositions, witness preparation, and evidence handling, or willingness to develop these skills under supervision.


• Familiarity with Courts and their rules, procedures, and filing requirements, and professionalism in all court and agency interactions.


• Admission to the Philippine Bar and good standing; Underbar associates are also welcome to apply.


• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple matters concurrently.
