Job summary

JRK Biomedical Inc. is seeking a Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RTRP) to provide professional respiratory care and support within licensed scope in Cebu City, Philippines. You will manage ABG/PFT, respiratory equipment, and education for patients and caregivers.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform systematic respiratory assessments and monitor patient status.
• Apply critical care thinking by assessing, prioritizing, intervening, and escalating when needed.
• Recognize respiratory distress, hypoxemia, hypercapnia, and potential failure.
• Provide respiratory therapy interventions within licensed scope and competency.
• Support oxygen therapy, CPAP, BiPAP/NIV, HFOT when applicable.
• Interpret ABGs and correlate with clinical presentation.
• Perform PFT/spirometry when assigned, including coaching and basic interpretation.
• Operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment.
• Provide clinical product demonstrations, in-services, equipment orientation, and patient education.

About the role

The Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RTRP) provides professional respiratory care and clinical support within the scope of the Employee's license, competency, physician orders, hospital protocols, JRK Biomedical policies, and applicable Philippine laws. The role combines clinical care, critical care thinking, ABG and PFT competency, respiratory equipment support, product education, training, and customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Perform systematic respiratory assessments and monitor patient respiratory status.

• Apply critical care thinking by assessing, analyzing, prioritizing, intervening, reassessing, and escalating appropriately.

• Recognize respiratory distress, deterioration, hypoxemia, hypercapnia, and potential respiratory failure.

• Provide respiratory therapy interventions within the RT's lawful scope and assigned competency.

• Support oxygen therapy, CPAP, BiPAP/NIV, HFOT, and other respiratory support modalities as applicable.

• Interpret ABGs, including pH, PaCO₂, PaO₂, HCO₃⁻, base excess/base deficit, compensation, and oxygenation status.

• Correlate ABG findings with clinical presentation and identify findings requiring prompt escalation.

• Perform PFT/spirometry when assigned, including patient preparation, coaching, quality assessment, and basic interpretation.

• Operate, check, and perform basic troubleshooting of assigned respiratory equipment.

• Provide clinical product demonstrations, hospital in-services, equipment orientation, and patient/caregiver education.

About you

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RTRP) credential or equivalent qualification.

• Competency in ABG interpretation and PFT/spirometry.

• Working knowledge of respiratory equipment operation and troubleshooting.

• Ability to coordinate with physicians, nurses, hospital RTs, biomedical personnel, and customers.

• Willingness to relocate to Cebu City.

• Willingness to travel to hospitals, clinics, customer sites, training venues, and other assigned locations when required.

• Commitment to infection-control, patient-safety, confidentiality, data-privacy, and occupational-safety requirements.
