Job summary

SM CITY LA UNION is seeking a Design Officer to oversee mall design requirements, tenant fit-out works, and visual standards in line with SM Supermalls guidelines.

You will coordinate with tenants, contractors, and internal teams, manage design approvals, monitor timelines, and maintain aesthetic and operational standards of the mall.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture required.
• Licensed Architect preferred.
• 1–3 years experience in design, construction, or fit-out management.
• Experience in retail, mall, or commercial property is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate tenant design submissions based on SM Supermalls design standards and guidelines.
• Provide recommendations and corrections for non-compliant design proposals.
• Ensure all approved plans meet safety, operational, and brand requirements.
• Maintain design consistency across mall common areas and tenant spaces.
• Monitor tenant fit-out construction and renovation activities.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure adherence to approved plans.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, and Leasing teams for project implementation.
• Track project timelines and ensure timely completion of tenant fit-outs.
• Handle tenant concerns related to design, signage, and construction requirements.
• Manage coordination meetings with tenants, contractors, and mall management.

About the role

About you

• Knowledge of architectural and construction drawings
• Strong coordination and handling management skills
• Project management and time management abilities
• Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, or similar design software
• Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
