Job summary

Avvoka in Manila is seeking a qualified lawyer to build and automate legally drafted templates on Avvoka's no-code platform. You will convert precedents from top law firms and banks into dynamic templates using your legal judgment.

In this role you will test templates for complex conditional scenarios, refine formatting, and advise on restructuring contracts for automation. You\'ll collaborate with Customer Success, Product, and Dev teams.

The Role

You’ll take the precedents that sit at the heart of global law firms and banks and turn them into intelligent, automated templates on Avvoka's no-code platform. This is drafting work for a lawyer, not ticket-taking: you'll work from briefings rather than specifications, and it's your legal judgment that decides how a document should flex.

In twelve months you'll have a portfolio of templates live with some of the most demanding legal teams in the world, and deep expertise in a practice area you've made your own.

What you’ll do

Build and automate

• Turn flat Word precedents used by law firms and in-house legal teams into fully automated Avvoka templates, applying conditional logic, variable fields, and structured workflows.
• Interpret briefings and instructions using your own legal judgment, rather than working from fully specified requirements.
• Work with Solutions Consultants and Account Executives to turn prospect precedents into bespoke templates, and build the stock templates we use in live client conversations.

Quality-assure and refine

• Test every template against complex conditional scenarios so documents generate cleanly, first time, under any combination of answers.
• Troubleshoot formatting, numbering, and logic errors, and structure templates so they stay scalable and easy to adapt as client needs change.

Advise and specialise

• Recommend how contracts should be restructured for automation, and implement data integrations and dynamic fields where they earn their place.
• Build deep expertise in a practice area, such as finance, real estate, corporate, insurance, employment, and become the person the team turns to on it.

What you’ll bring

• At least 2-3 years' experience as a qualified lawyer, ideally in a law firm or in-house legal setting, with hands-on drafting of commercial or transactional documents such as loan agreements, corporate housekeeping documents, engagement letters, purchase agreements, employment contracts, etc.
• Practice-area expertise developed from actual experience handling matters in finance, real estate, corporate, insurance, employment or similar.
• Strong logical thinking and a forensic eye for detail.
• Confident command of Microsoft Word styling, numbering, and formatting.
• Excellent communication skills to work with clients and with our Customer Success, Product, and Dev teams.
• A proactive, solution-focused mindset and real comfort with ambiguity.

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) tools or low-code automation platforms.
• An understanding of conditional logic, data mapping, and API integrations.
