COHECO BADEO CORPORATION is seeking a strategic legal counsel to provide guidance across project development, commercial operations, regulatory compliance, and contract management. You will work closely with management, project teams and stakeholders to keep hydroelectric projects and operations legally compliant and commercially sound.

To provide strategic legal support across project development, commercial operations, regulatory compliance, and contract management. The successful candidate will work closely with management, project teams, and business stakeholders to ensure that the company's hydroelectric generation projects, commercial agreements, and operational activities are legally compliant, commercially sound, and aligned with the organization's strategic objectives. This role will play a key part in supporting project execution, managing legal risks, and navigating the complex regulatory environment governing the power and renewable energy sectors.
Provide legal advice and guidance on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters.
Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of contracts and legal agreements, including FIDIC-based engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts and other project-related agreements.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry requirements within the energy and power sector.
Identify, assess, and mitigate legal, regulatory, and contractual risks across projects and business operations.
Support project teams in the interpretation, administration, and dispute resolution of FIDIC standard form contracts.
Conduct legal research and provide practical, business-focused recommendations to management.
Liaise with external counsel, regulatory bodies, and other key stakeholders when necessary.
Member in good standing of the Philippine Bar with a Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B. or Juris Doctor).
At least 5 to 8 years of post-qualification legal experience, preferably within the energy, power, utilities, infrastructure, or other highly regulated industries.
Proven experience in contract drafting, review, negotiation, and contract lifecycle management.
Solid background in regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and legal risk management.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Commercially minded with the ability to provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice.
Able to work independently while effectively collaborating with business and operational teams.
