Job summary

Narra Crewing and Shipmanagement Corporation is seeking a licensed Naval/Marine Engineer or Mechanical Engineer to oversee maintenance and dry-docking activities across onboard vessels. You will ensure PMS adherence, prepare dry-docking work packages, and collaborate with Master and Group Head for approvals.

Role requires coordination of repairs, assistance with class surveys, and providing technical input for supplies and services.

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed Naval/Marine Engineer or Mechanical Engineer.
• Experience in the shipping industry, monitoring vessel pair and maintenance, including dry-docking.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) is being followed and implemented onboard supervised vessels.
• Submits dry-docking work package within three (3) weeks after receipt from vessel, for review by the Group Head and approval of the president.
• Ensure that dry-docking work scope is submitted by the Master, one hundred twenty (120) days prior dry-docking.
• Provides information to GH of incoming Class and statutory surveys; assist surveyors during surveys and follow up issuance of class certificates and survey reports.
• Provides technical advice on purchase of supplies and services.
• Coordinates vessel’s repair schedule with owners.
• Attend vessel technical inspections and assess the condition of Deck & Engine machineries and submit reports to GH/President.
• The Technical Superintendent conducts quarterly visits to assigned vessels and conducts meetings with the crew regarding vessel defects and action taken or action plan to correct the defect.
• Investigates near misses, non-conformity, incident/accident, hazardous occurrences and formulate preventive measures on health, safety and environment related incidents, prepares root cause analysis and recommend corrective & preventive action.
