Job summary

MicroSourcing is seeking a Structural Engineer to lead residential and light commercial structural design. You will perform analyses, create construction documents, and coordinate with architects, managers, and clients to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role requires experience with wood/masonry structures, AutoCAD, and Revit proficiency, plus knowledge of Florida Building Codes and IBC. Hybrid work setup with night shifts is offered.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of structural engineering experience, primarily with wood and masonry structures.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D.
• Experience using RISA 3D for structural analysis and design.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong understanding of Florida Building Codes and IBC requirements.
• Experience designing metal plate connected wood trusses and engineered wood products.
• Experience designing steel, wood, masonry, and concrete structures up to three stories.
• US project experience is required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design of single-family residential projects, with opportunities to support light commercial developments.
• Perform structural analysis and design of wood, masonry, steel, and concrete structures (up to three stories).
• Design shallow/spread and deep foundation systems based on project requirements.
• Prepare structural calculations, engineering reports, and detailed construction documents.
• Develop and maintain accurate AutoCAD drawings, with Revit used where applicable.
• Coordinate with architects, project managers, consultants, and clients throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review engineering specifications, drawings, and contract documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Respond to RFIs, conduct design reviews, support construction activities, and perform site visits when required.
• Ensure all structural designs comply with applicable Florida Building Codes, IBC, and industry standards.
