FDC Utilities, Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead Front End Engineering Design and oversee mechanical systems for power plant projects.
You will review mechanical designs, coordinate with EPC contractors, and support commissioning and start-up activities to ensure reliable plant performance. The role also involves developing maintenance procedures, identifying reliability improvements, and providing technical inputs for redesigns and retrofits across multiple site
To perform various Front-Engineering assignments requiring the application of basic principles and fundamental theories as well as general industry practices relative to architectural and for the approval of the Manager-Mechanical. To provide technical inputs, study and other technical services during the project development stage. To prepare specifications and provide comments on offered technologies of vendors / contractors.
To review the design, plans and drawings and provide additional comments for revisions. To conduct random inspection and testing (or witness testing / commissioning) to ensure the workmanship of vendors and contractors shall be conducted by lead architect during construction stage especially for concrete and reinforcements. To provide technical services assistance to plant management such as redesign and retrofitting and improvement of maintenance study of plant systems for higher plant reliability and efficiency.
A. Project Development
1. Conduct Front End Engineering Design of Boiler, Steam Turbine and BOP Mechanical Systems
2. Prepare/provide comments on Boiler, Steam Turbine and BOP mechanical systems Minimum Functional Specifications
3. Review and provide comments on the submitted proposals' mechanical systems, specs and control philosophy
B. Project Management
1. Review the submitted mechanical equipment and systems technical data, plans and drawings of the EPC contractor in compliance with the company, national and international standards.
2. Inspect the EPC contractor installation, testing and commissioning methods and procedure of mechanical systems to ensure to adhere in the Good Industry Practice criteria.
3. Inspect the installed mechanical equipment technical specifications and check the equipment parts mounting, balancing and alignment.
4. Perform operations, vibration, thermal and pressure tests on newly installed mechanical equipment. Analyze the trend of readings of vibrations, thermal / temperatures of rotating equipment; recommend counter measure and course of action to prevent the breakdown of equipment.
5. Analyze the EPC contractor submitted mechanical system diagrams and recommend revisions on system that will correct probable equipment failures.
6. Monitor the on-time completion of installation and commissioning of mechanical equipment and recommend measures to avoid delays.
7. Participate in the Factory Acceptance and Commissioning tests of mechanical systems and equipment
8. Participate in the site and acceptance tests and commissioning of related mechanical equipment and systems
C. Plant Operations and Maintenance
1. Develop mechanical equipment and systems operations and maintenance standard procedures.
2. Evaluate the plant performance test and recommend heat rate improvement
3. Analyze plant equipment failures and recommend reliability improvement
4. Conduct a study on reconfiguration/redesign of Boiler, Steam Turbine, and BOP (Balance of Plant) systems.
D. Others
5. Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Management.
6. Must be willing to be assigned in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, wherever the Management deems that the technical services are needed.
I. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, must be a licensed engineer. Registered Mechanical Engineer (RME) / PME (Professional Mechanical Engineer).
II. EXPERIENCE: At least 7 - 9 years of experience in power, energy industry.
