BTSMC Managing Solutions, Inc (formerly Brunel Technical Services Manpower Corp) is seeking an Engineering Lead and Boiler Expert to direct boiler plant engineering, oversee the onsite technical team, and set inspection strategies at Mariveles, Bataan.
The ideal candidate has a mechanical or chemical engineering degree, 10+ years in boiler operation, and professional licensure, with deep knowledge of Pulverized Coal fired plants and lifecycle management.
The Engineering Lead and Boiler Expert directs the engineering initiatives and manages the onsite technical team. Serving as the primary subject matter expert, this role oversees the design, operation, and maintenance of the boiler plant and its associated subsystems. Key responsibilities include defining inspection strategies, providing expert technical guidance, and ensuring all institutional knowledge is documented for site personnel.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical).
Licensing: Professional License/Registration is required.
Years of Experience: At least 10 years of professional experience in boiler operation and maintenance.
Specialization: Specific expertise in PC (Pulverized Coal) fired power plants and their subsystems (Operation, Maintenance, and Design).
Design & Manufacturing: Essential experience in boiler design, manufacturing, and construction.
Pressure Systems: In-depth knowledge of pressure parts and hands‑on experience in remaining life assessments.
Fuel Knowledge: Knowledge of coal and combustion characteristics specifically for coal sourced from South East Asia.
Leadership: Demonstrated leadership capabilities in a professional setting.
Communication: Proven ability to work effectively with all levels of internal management and staff.
Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Computer Skills: Advanced proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and local applications.
Program Management: Develop and review existing Boiler Maintenance and Remaining Life Assessment (RLA) programs.
Scope Optimization: Collaborate with site personnel and team members to develop additional scope for testing, inspections, assessments, samples, and modifications to optimize operation and maintenance.
Team Leadership: Manage the site project team regarding work scope, schedule, and deliverables.
Expert Execution: Manage and execute all project requirements specific to the boiler expert role.
Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular feedback to respective leads and the management team as required.
Operational Analysis: Conduct in‑depth analysis of operational data to detect, characterize, and predict anomalies in equipment performance and system behavior.
Performance Limits: Determine plant operating limits based on output, efficiency, and plant availability.
Outage Support: Conduct inspections and provide technical input for outage activities, including tube sampling and modifications.
Life Assessment: Develop and execute programs for reliable life assessment estimation of boiler pressure parts.
Technical Integration: Support sites in ensuring necessary technical activities are integrated into outage programs.
Lifecycle Management: Review and advise on improvements for the lifecycle management of boiler plants and associated subsystems.
Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Assist in future RCAs within the project scope and review existing RCAs for completeness and accuracy.
Work Schedule: Monday to Saturday, 07:30 AM - 04:30 PM
Work Location: Mariveles, Bataan - Site Based; from time to time to report to HO (Makati or Pasig)
