Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to drive the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems for data centers and Cable Landing Stations. You will lead HVAC, cooling, and fire suppression, ensuring energy efficiency, reliability, and compliance with client specifications and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• 1–3 years consulting experience in electrical engineering for data centers or CLS projects.
• Proven experience designing HVAC, cooling, fire suppression for data centers/CLS.
• Strong engineering calculations: thermal load, airflow, pump head, sizing.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, Trace, CFD for system modeling.
• Knowledge of Uptime, ASHRAE, NFPA, and local codes.
• Registered Mechanical Engineer; professional license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems for data centers and CLS.
• Ensure energy efficiency, scalability, reliability, and compliance with specs and standards.
• Collaborate with DC Design Manager, CSA Lead, Lead Electrical Engineer, and other teams for integration.
• Provide technical leadership and address design challenges effectively.
• Support project management during execution to resolve installation issues.
• Oversee commissioning and testing to ensure performance and safety compliance.
• Drive ongoing optimization of mechanical systems in operation phase.
• Guide troubleshooting and continuous improvement of system performance.
