Job summary

Maya Bank is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design and implement scalable backend services in a performance-focused environment. You will develop secure APIs, maintain existing systems, and drive architectural decisions across multiple services.

You will mentor junior engineers, participate in code reviews, and lead incident investigations to improve platform reliability. Experience with Node.js/TypeScript, Docker/Kubernetes, and AWS is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/CE or equivalent.
• 4+ years in application development using Node.js/Typescript.
• 5+ years backend development experience.
• Extensive experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Relational databases and exposure to NoSQL DBs.
• Experience with testing frameworks and CI/CD tools.
• Experience with containerized apps (Docker/K8s) and cloud (AWS).
• Experience with agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of web/mobile frontend is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain applications and system components.
• Design, plan, and implement services for high throughput transactions.
• Develop secure, reusable APIs for internal and external use.
• Participate in code reviews and deployments.
• Implement automation for testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and alerts.
