Job summary

Maya in the Philippines is seeking a senior backend engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable services using Node.js/Typescript. You will implement secure APIs, work with cloud and containerized deployments, and participate in architecture discussions to shape the Loyalty Platform.

Required is 5+ years backend experience, 4+ years with Node.js/Typescript, and strong knowledge of databases, testing, and CI/CD practices.

Qualifications

• BS in CS/IT/CE or equivalent.
• 4+ years in application development with Node.js/Typescript.
• 5+ years backend experience with RESTful APIs.
• Relational DBs (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis).
• Experience with Jest/Mocha and testing utilities.
• Strong Git and version control.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain applications and system components.
• Design scalable backend services for high transaction volume.
• Develop secure, reusable internal/external APIs.
• Participate in code reviews and deployments.
• Implement automation for tests, CI/CD, monitoring, alerts.
• Perform load tests and optimizations; contribute to architecture.
• Evaluate new tech stacks and collaborate with frontend teams.
