Job summary

GCash is seeking a lead automation engineer to advance AI-driven tooling and internal applications in a FinTech environment in the Philippines. The role focuses on reducing toil, improving deployment readiness, and delivering scalable automation solutions.

You will collaborate with L2/L3 teams and stakeholders to design backend services, data integrations, and lightweight UIs, leveraging Python, SQL, REST APIs, and cloud-native patterns for reliable production systems.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on software engineering across backend, scripting, and internal tooling development.
• Strong Python proficiency for automation and optimization.
• Strong SQL capability for data analysis and diagnostics.
• Working knowledge of REST APIs and modern web front-ends.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain AI automations for deployment readiness review, failure analysis, and incident diagnosis.
• Develop internal applications, scripts, and services to reduce manual L2/SRE tasks and boost efficiency.
• Create workflow automations to validate changes, check ticket completeness, and enforce guardrails before review.
• Build tooling for release governance, CAB support, deployment coordination, and risk assessment.
• Convert recurring support issues and checklists into reusable automations and knowledge assets.
• Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, data integrations, and lightweight frontends for internal automation products.
• Use SQL and data access patterns to support diagnostics, extraction, transformation, and validation.
• Strengthen delivery pipelines, observability, and monitoring to ensure automation reliability.
• Troubleshoot issues across application, backend, deployment, and workflow layers; drive permanent fixes via tooling.
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to prioritize high-impact automation opportunities.
