Job summary

Outsource Accelerator is seeking a Junior Helpdesk Engineer to join a fully remote, UK-hours support team. You will provide first-line assistance via phone, email and remote tools, troubleshooting Windows desktops, Microsoft 365 and related applications.

The role emphasizes learning quickly, handling endpoint security, and collaborating with senior engineers to meet service targets in a fast-paced support environment.

Qualifications

• Experience providing first-line IT support across Windows environments and Microsoft 365.
• Familiarity with malware/endpoint security and basic networking.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line technical support to users via phone, email and remote tools.
• Diagnose and resolve Windows desktop, Office and application issues.
• Support Microsoft 365 users with Outlook, Teams and OneDrive.
• Manage user accounts in Active Directory with security best practices.
• Assist with Exchange and Microsoft 365 administration tasks including mailbox configuration.
• Install, configure and maintain Windows desktops, laptops and peripherals.
• Investigate antivirus alerts and malware-related issues.
• Perform basic network troubleshooting (WiFi, DNS, IP, printers).
• Support Apple devices (macOS, iPhone, iPad) connectivity and email.
• Escalate complex issues to second-line engineers; document steps and resolutions.
• Maintain accurate support records and communicate progress to users.
• Prioritise workload independently while coordinating with senior engineers.
