Job summary

Hive Health in the Philippines is seeking a detail-oriented junior Accountant to join our finance team in Ortigas, Pasig. You will manage day-to-day transactions, oversee accounts, and ensure accurate financial data.

This role requires knowledge of accounting principles, proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks or Xero, and strong organizational skills. Onsite 2x per week; Day 1 benefits include comprehensive healthcare and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a bookkeeper or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero).
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
• In-depth understanding of accounting principles, tax laws, and regulations.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be willing to work onsite in Ortigas, Pasig 2x a week.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Financial Records: Record and manage all financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, compliance, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare Financial Reports: Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Tax Preparation: Be responsible for the preparation of tax returns and maintain tax records.
• Spearhead Audits: Provide schedules, documentation and reports for external audits, as needed.
• Compliance: Support in compliance matters in relation to the Insurance Commission and other regulatory bodies.
• Manage Accounts: Oversee the company’s general ledger and ensure all financial data is accurately posted.
• Document Payroll: Ensure complete documentation of employee salaries, wages, bonuses, and deductions in a timely manner.
• Reconcile Accounts: Reconcile bank statements, other assets, and card transactions regularly to ensure accounts are accurate and up-to-date.
• Monitor Expenses: Assist with tracking of company expenses and ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines.
• Communication: Collaborate with other departments and senior management to resolve any financial discrepancies.
