Job summary

Talent Map Global BPO, Inc. is seeking a Journeyman Software Tester to blend methodical testing with test automation, validating AI-enabled workflows, APIs, and user interfaces.

You will develop and execute test cases, automate tests with Python, pytest, Playwright, Vitest, and integrate with CI/CD pipelines; collaborate with PH- and US-based teams to ensure quality across REST/JSON, data formats, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, SE, IT or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• At least 3 years of professional software testing or QA experience.
• Experience testing web-based or distributed apps.
• Experience automating tests with Python and pytest, JS/TS testing tools.
• Experience testing REST/JSON interfaces and external integrations.
• Experience validating web interfaces for responsiveness and accessibility.
• Familiar with Git, defect tracking, CI/CD, logs, and monitoring.
• Strong English communication; able to work with PH and US teams.

About the role

The Journeyman Software Tester combines methodical software testing practices with hands-on test-automation experience and a strong understanding of modern software applications. You will interpret requirements, develop repeatable tests, investigate unexpected results, document clear and traceable evidence, and validate AI-enabled workflows, APIs, integrations, data-processing capabilities, and user interfaces.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute test cases based on established requirements, acceptance criteria, test strategies, and Definition of Done.
• Perform functional, API, integration, regression, end-to-end, and accessibility testing of AI-enabled workflows, Python services, MCP tools, external-system connectors, data-processing functions, and React-based user interfaces.
• Create and maintain automated tests using Python, pytest, Playwright, Vitest, Testing Library, or comparable frameworks, and support their execution within CI/CD pipelines.
• Evaluate LangGraph workflows, prompts, tool selection, multi-step interactions, approval gates, response quality, failure handling, and audit records using established evaluation criteria.
• Validate REST/JSON contracts and the processing of Excel, Word, PDF, Microsoft Project, XML, and SQL-based data using approved synthetic or appropriately sanitized samples.
• Reproduce, document, track, retest, and verify defects while providing clear steps, logs, screenshots, test evidence, and expected results.
• Confirm that assigned capabilities satisfy acceptance criteria and that test results, defects, known limitations, and supporting evidence are complete and prepared for review.
• Follow established technical, security, data-handling, review, and promotion controls. Promptly elevate unclear requirements, unresolved decisions, security concerns, test limitations, and proposed deviations while collaborating with team members.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, computer engineering, artificial intelligence, or a related discipline, with equivalent relevant experience considered in place of a degree.
• Three or more years of professional software testing, quality assurance, test automation, or related software-development experience.
• Experience executing functional, API, integration, regression, and end-to-end tests for web-based or distributed applications.
• Experience creating automated tests using Python and pytest, JavaScript or TypeScript testing frameworks, Playwright, or comparable tools.
• Experience testing REST/JSON interfaces, authentication, role-based access controls, error handling, and external-system integrations.
• Experience validating web-based user interfaces, including responsive behavior and accessibility requirements.
• Ability to validate document-and data-processing capabilities involving office-document formats, structured data, XML, or SQL.
• Experience using Git, defect-tracking systems, CI/CD pipelines, application logs, and monitoring data to investigate and document failures.
• Understanding of secure software development, credential protection, controlled data handling, and software quality practices.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with Philippine- and U.S.-based team members.
