Job Summary:

The Job Controller is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the flow of repair and maintenance jobs within the Service Department. This role ensures that job orders are properly assigned, tracked, and completed within the required timeframe. The Job Controller works closely with Service Advisors, Technicians, and other service personnel to maintain an efficient workshop workflow, optimize manpower utilization, and ensure timely completion of customer vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Job Scheduling and Assignment
    • Receive and review job orders and assign tasks to appropriate technicians based on workload and job requirements.
    • Prioritize and distribute jobs effectively to maintain efficient workshop operations.
    • Monitor technician availability, workload, and job progress.
  • Job Monitoring and Workflow Control
    • Track the status of all ongoing repair and maintenance jobs from start to completion.
    • Monitor turnaround times and identify delays or bottlenecks that may affect service delivery.
    • Coordinate with concerned personnel to ensure jobs are completed within established timelines.
  • Team Coordination and Leadership
    • Provide clear instructions and effectively delegate tasks to technicians and service personnel.
    • Work closely with Service Advisors and Parts personnel to ensure technicians have the necessary information, parts, and resources.
    • Encourage teamwork and maintain effective communication within the workshop.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate records of job assignments, status updates, technician allocation, and completed work.
    • Prepare daily and periodic reports on job status, productivity, and workshop performance.
    • Ensure service-related documents and records are properly updated and organized.
  • Operational Efficiency and Quality Support
    • Identify workflow inefficiencies and recommend practical solutions to improve workshop productivity.
    • Ensure that service jobs follow established procedures and operational standards.
    • Assist in monitoring the proper completion and quality of assigned jobs before vehicle release.
  • Customer Service Support
    • Coordinate with Service Advisors regarding job progress, delays, and additional repair requirements.
    • Help ensure that customer vehicles are completed and released according to agreed schedules.
    • Support the Service Department in maintaining a positive customer experience.
