Job summary

PM Consulting is seeking a certified IP DRGV AuditorCoder to review inpatient records and assign precise ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and DRG codes in line with coding guidelines and regulatory mandates. You will interpret physician notes, lab results and discharge summaries, while querying clinicians when documentation is unclear.

The role requires 1–3 years of DRGV coding experience in acute care and strong knowledge of medical terminology and encoder tools.

Qualifications

• Active certification CPC/CCS/CIC/CCS-P (any)
• 1–3 years of DRGV coding experience (acute care preferred)
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS and DRG assignment
• Medical terminology, anatomy & physiology
• Experience with EMR/EHR systems and encoder tools
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient medical records to assign accurate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS and DRG codes
• Ensure coding accuracy, completeness and regulatory compliance (AHIMA/AAPC)
• Interpret physician notes, labs and discharge summaries
• Query physicians when documentation is unclear or insufficient
• Meet productivity and quality benchmarks
• Stay updated with coding changes and payer guidelines
• Collaborate with QA and audit teams for process improvement
