PM Consulting is seeking a certified IP DRGV AuditorCoder to review inpatient records and assign precise ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and DRG codes in line with coding guidelines and regulatory mandates. You will interpret physician notes, lab results and discharge summaries, while querying clinicians when documentation is unclear.
The role requires 1–3 years of DRGV coding experience in acute care and strong knowledge of medical terminology and encoder tools.
We are looking for a detail-oriented and certified IP DRGV AuditorCoder to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing clinical documentation and assigning accurate codes for inpatient encounters in compliance with coding guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Review and analyze inpatient medical records to assign accurate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and DRG codes
Ensure coding accuracy, completeness, and compliance with AHIMA/AAPC standards
Interpret clinical documentation including physician notes, lab results, and discharge summaries
Query physicians when documentation is insufficient or unclear
Meet productivity and quality benchmarks
Stay updated with coding changes, payer guidelines, and compliance requirements
Collaborate with QA and audit teams for continuous improvement
Active certification (any of the following):
CPC, CCS, CIC, or CCS-P
Minimum 1-3 years of DRGV coding experience (acute care setting preferred)
Strong knowledge of:
ICD-10-CM / ICD-10-PCS coding
DRG assignment
Medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
Experience with EMR/EHR systems and encoder tools
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Experience in US healthcare / revenue cycle management
Exposure to auditing or quality assurance processes
Familiarity with payer-specific guidelines
