Job summary

Our Clients is seeking a detail-oriented Inpatient Medical Coder to review clinical documentation and assign accurate codes for inpatient encounters in compliance with coding guidelines and regulatory requirements.

The role requires active certification (CPC/CCS/CIC/CCS-P) and 1–3 years of inpatient coding experience, with strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS, DRG assignment, and encoder tools. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and attention to detail is essential.

Qualifications

• Active certification CPC, CCS, CIC, or CCS-P.
• Minimum 1–3 years inpatient coding experience.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS.
• Proficiency in DRG assignment and medical terminology.
• Experience with EMR/EHR systems and encoder tools.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze inpatient medical records to assign accurate ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and DRG codes.
• Ensure coding accuracy, completeness, and compliance with AHIMA/AAPC standards.
• Interpret clinical documentation including physician notes, labs, and discharge summaries.
• Query physicians when documentation is insufficient or unclear.
• Meet productivity and quality benchmarks.
• Stay updated with coding changes, payer guidelines, and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with QA and audit teams for continuous improvement.
