Job summary

Ponderosa Leather Goods Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced Import/Export Coordinator to oversee cross-border shipments from our Antipolo facility.

You will ensure compliance with government regulations, manage documentation, and drive process improvements to meet quality objectives and customer satisfaction. The role requires a college degree in Business and at least five years in import/export, with strong knowledge of customs rules, cost analysis, and effective communication.

Qualifications

  • College graduate with a degree in Business.
  • At least five years of work experience in import/export.
  • Knowledge of Customs compliance rules and regulations.
  • Ability to plan and direct the work of others.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of cost analysis techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Establish objectives and administer efficient Import/Export operations and process improvements.
  • Develop procedures in the Export and Import Process for better management of documentation and record keeping.
  • Ensure importation or exportation is not penalized unnecessarily and provide timely feedback to Management regarding Export and Import rules and regulations.
  • Establish proper connections with Customs personnel to resolve issues in a timely manner to avoid delays in manufacturing.
  • Monitor cash advances and ensure excess amounts are returned immediately to Accounting Department.
  • Analyze, check and verify all expenses incurred in releasing in-bound and processing out-bound cargoes.
  • Negotiate best rates with forwarders.
  • Prepare and submit reports (internal and external) promptly and ensure they are free from errors and compliant with laws.
  • Arrange and provide logistical work in moving materials both in-bound and out-bound to destination in a timely, cost effective and efficient manner.
  • Liaise with government agencies to coordinate customs clearance activities and avoid delays and extra charges.

About the role

This position is responsible for importation and exportation activities to and from foreign destinations, ensuring compliance with government regulations regarding shipment, receipt, and documentation of imported/exported products to achieve quality objectives, customer satisfaction and productivity goals.

About you
  • College graduate with a degree in Business or equivalent business experience
  • At least five (5) years of work experience in the field
  • Knowledge of Customs compliance rules and regulations
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions
  • Ability to express ideas clearly, concisely and convincingly
  • Ability to plan and direct the work of others
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Knowledge of cost analysis techniques
