About the role
We are looking for a Project HVAC Engineer to join our engineering team and support the delivery of HVAC projects from initial design through project completion. This role is ideal for an engineer with hands-on HVAC experience who enjoys working on technical design, engineering solutions, drawing reviews, equipment selection, and project coordination. You will work closely with Project, Drafting, Construction, Estimating, and supplier teams to develop practical and cost-effective engineering solutions.
Key responsibilities
Prepare HVAC engineering designs, calculations, and technical solutions for various projects.
Review and provide technical input on mechanical and engineering drawings.
Work with the Drafting team on drawing revisions, mark-ups, workshop drawings, construction drawings, and as-built documentation.
Provide engineering guidance to Project, Drafting, Estimating, and Construction teams.
Review project designs and identify practical, cost-effective, and constructible alternatives.
Assist with technical checks and design reviews for projects progressing from tender to delivery.
Assess consultant designs and recommend suitable alternatives while maintaining project requirements.
Support value engineering, constructability improvements, and safety considerations during project development.
Assist with equipment and plant selection based on project requirements.
Coordinate with suppliers regarding technical specifications and engineering-related requirements.
About you
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related/equivalent qualification.
Previous experience in the HVAC industry or a similar engineering environment.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with Revit and Camel Software is an advantage.
Knowledge of Australian building codes and standards is an advantage.
Familiarity with engineering references and practices such as CIBSE, AIRAH, and ASHRAE is beneficial.
Exposure to Green Star, NABERS, or PCA Grade building requirements is a plus.
Strong attention to detail, communication, and coordination skills.
Ability to review technical information and develop practical engineering solutions.
