Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and organized HR & Payroll Specialist to support the Head of People and Culture in Canada with HR operations across both the Philippines and Canada.
This role manages end‑to‑end recruitment, Philippine payroll processing, HR administration, compliance, and reporting. Payroll responsibilities apply specifically to Philippines‑based employees, including statutory compliance and government‑mandated contributions.
The ideal candidate is tech‑savvy, highly organized, comfortable in a fast‑paced and evolving environment, and able to work on an EST schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Manage the full recruitment cycle including job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Track recruitment progress and maintain a strong candidate pipeline.
- Create dashboards and reports on recruitment metrics and hiring trends.
- Collaborate with the Canadian team to align recruitment with company growth objectives.
Payroll & Compensation
- Process payroll accurately and on time for Philippines‑based employees.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws and statutory contributions (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag‑IBIG, taxes).
- Maintain payroll records and prepare payroll reports.
- Coordinate with Canada on salary adjustments, benefits, and compensation matters.
HR Operations & Administration
- Maintain employee records, contracts, and HR documentation.
- Implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and performance management processes.
- Manage HR systems and communication platforms (Slack, Zoom).
Reporting & Analytics
- Create HR dashboards and reports using Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, analytics).
- Analyze recruitment and HR data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Provide regular reporting to the Head of People and Culture on HR KPIs.
Philippine Benefits & Compliance
- Administer employee benefits in compliance with Philippine labor laws.
- Handle government‑mandated contributions and reporting requirements.
- Support onboarding and orientation of Philippines‑based employees.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Accounting, or related field.
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in HR, payroll, or HR generalist roles.
- Experience in Philippine payroll processing and statutory compliance.
- Experience supporting recruitment and HR operations.
Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (pivot tables, dashboards).
- Experienced in Slack and Zoom.
- Proficient in Google Workspace.
Nice‑to‑Have
- Experience establishing HR operations from the ground up.
- Experience supporting remote teams or cross‑country HR operations.
- Strong knowledge of Philippine labor laws, payroll, and benefits administration.
- Experience building HR metrics dashboards and reports.
