Job summary
As a Home Lending Solutions Analyst in Correspondent Underwriting, you will support a shared correspondent lending pipeline by helping mortgage files progress through operational workflows accurately and efficiently. You will partner with internal teams and external clients to resolve issues, provide timely updates, and improve documentation quality and cycle time. This role is based in the Philippines and aligned to U.S. business hours.
Job responsibilities
- Support a shared pipeline/queue of correspondent loan activity to help maintain production and service standards
- Communicate with external clients and internal stakeholders via email, phone, and meetings to provide status updates and next steps
- Review loan files for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to documented process requirements
- Identify documentation gaps, missing conditions, and process breaks, and drive resolution through appropriate routing, follow-up, and escalation
- Coordinate with partners across underwriting, compliance, funding, post-funding, and quality functions to support timely progression and clear documentation
- Maintain accurate, timely notes and outcomes in systems to support auditability and operational control
- Participate in recurring client and internal touchpoints, capture action items, and ensure disciplined follow-through
- Identify recurring defects, document themes and root causes, and recommend practical enhancements to reduce rework and improve customer experience
- Demonstrate ownership, responsiveness, and a solutions-oriented approach to support customer satisfaction
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Minimum 2 years experience in mortgage banking and/or mortgage operations
- Experience supporting file progression activities such as processing support, underwriting support, closing/funding support, post-close support, or quality control
- Ability to manage high-volume inbound/outbound communication (phone and email), document interactions accurately, and follow defined escalation paths
- Experience communicating directly with external clients or business partners, including providing clear status updates and setting expectations professionally
- Familiarity with key regulatory concepts such as the TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure (TRID), the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) requirements (training may be provided)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly summarize issues, decisions, and next steps
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple files and meet deadlines in a queue-driven environment
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills to identify issues and move work forward appropriately
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and comfort using collaboration/video-conferencing tools
- Must pass the Communication Skills Assessment (CSA) requirement
- Ability to work U.S. hours (night shift) and comply with hybrid/on-site requirements based on business needs
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
- Experience supporting correspondent lending operations and managing shared pipelines/queues
- Experience coordinating with third-party due diligence or quality partners
- Experience with loan documentation standards and condition tracking practices
- Familiarity with mortgage compliance documentation and operational controls (audit-ready documentation practices)
- Experience contributing to continuous improvement efforts (e.g., defect trending, root cause documentation, standard work updates)
