Job summary

BD Scientia Hemodialysis and Diagnostic Center Inc. is seeking a dedicated Hemodialysis Nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing dialysis before, during, and after treatment.

You will assess patients, monitor dialysis, manage vascular access, and educate patients as part of a collaborative nephrology team.

Qualifications

• Valid Philippine PRC nursing license.
• BSN degree or equivalent.
• BLS/CPR certification preferred.
• Fresh graduates may be considered based on the facility's training requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-, intra-, and post-dialysis nursing assessments.
• Obtain and document vital signs, weight, and clinical parameters.
• Verify patient identity, treatment orders, and dialysis parameters before treatment.
• Initiate, monitor, and terminate hemodialysis according to protocols.
• Monitor dialysis machine parameters and patient response.
• Assess and care for AV fistula, AV graft, and dialysis catheter access.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely.
• Monitor for dialysis-related complications and intervene as needed.
• Report significant changes promptly to the nephrologist or supervisor.
• Strictly observe infection prevention and control policies.

About the role

The Hemodialysis Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing hemodialysis before, during, and after treatment. The successful candidate will be responsible for patient assessment, dialysis treatment monitoring, vascular access care, medication administration, management of dialysis-related complications, patient education, documentation, infection control, and coordination with the nephrologist and dialysis team.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pre-, intra-, and post-dialysis nursing assessment.
• Obtain and document patients' vital signs, weight, and other relevant clinical parameters.
• Verify patient identity, treatment orders, and prescribed dialysis parameters before treatment.
• Initiate, monitor, and terminate hemodialysis treatment according to established protocols and physician orders.
• Monitor dialysis machine parameters and patient response throughout treatment.
• Assess and provide appropriate care for AV fistula, AV graft, and dialysis catheter access.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely and accurately.
• Monitor patients for signs and symptoms of dialysis-related complications.
• Provide immediate nursing interventions and promptly report significant changes in the patient's condition to the nephrologist or appropriate supervisor.
• Strictly observe infection prevention and control policies.

About you

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid Philippine PRC license.
• Strong interest in providing care to patients with chronic kidney disease.
• Good clinical judgment and patient assessment skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
• Willingness to follow facility policies, protocols, and training requirements.
• Reliable, responsible, professional, and patient-centered.
• Previous experience as a Hemodialysis Nurse (preferred).
• BLS/CPR certification (preferred).
• Fresh graduates / newly licensed nurses with relevant training may be considered, subject to the facility's competency and training requirements.
