Job summary

Cyden Medicale Trading Inc. seeks a Head Nurse to lead the nursing and clinical operations of a freestanding dialysis center.

The role ensures safe, high-quality hemodialysis care, regulatory compliance, and efficient management of staff, resources, and patient outcomes. The Head Nurse will oversee clinical leadership, staff supervision, quality assurance, and documentation, collaborating with nephrologists to develop individualized care plans and ensuring DOH inspections and PhilHealth

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with valid PRC license in the Philippines.
• BSN required; MA in Nursing/Management is an advantage.
• 3–5 years of progressive clinical experience in hemodialysis with at least 2 years in supervision.
• Completed training for Hemodialysis Nurses (BON/ANPHI).
• Certified in BLS and ACLS.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily clinical operations, patient scheduling, bed assignments, and treatment quality.
• Leads nursing staff and dialysis technicians; manages rosters and staff development.
• Ensures DOH licensing, IPC guidelines, and waste management compliance.
• Monitors KPIs and prepares regular census and reports.

Job description

The Head Nurse is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and supervision of all nursing and clinical operations in the freestanding dialysis center. The position ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, and patient-centered hemodialysis care, strict compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, and efficient management of staff, resources, and patient outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities

A. Clinical Leadership and Patient Care Management

1. Oversees the overall daily clinical operations, including patient scheduling, bed assignments, patient flow, and quality of hemodialysis treatments.
2. Ensures that all nursing care, from pre-dialysis to post-dialysis assessment and monitoring, is carried out in accordance with established protocols and standards of care.
3. Handles and provides expert intervention for complex, high-risk patient cases, medical emergencies, and adverse dialysis reactions.
4. Collaborates with Nephrologists in the development and implementation of individualized patient care plans.
5. Ensures continuity of care, patient safety, and optimal clinical outcomes.

B. Administrative and Staff Management

1. Leads, supervises, mentors, and evaluates all nursing staff and dialysis technicians.
2. Prepares and manages duty rosters, shift schedules, leave plans, and ensures adequate staffing at all times.
3. Conducts regular performance evaluations, competency assessments, and implements staff development and continuing education programs.
4. Enforces discipline, professional conduct, and adherence to Code of Ethics and hospital policies.

C. Quality Assurance, Regulatory Compliance, and Documentation

1. Ensures strict compliance with Department of Health (DOH) Licensing Standards for Dialysis Centers, Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Guidelines, and Waste Management Protocols.
2. Develops, implements, and monitors nursing policies, procedures, clinical practice guidelines, and quality improvement programs.
3. Ensures complete, accurate, and timely documentation of nursing records, treatment sheets, incident reports, and PhilHealth requirements.
4. Leads and prepares the unit for DOH licensing inspections, PhilHealth accreditation, and other regulatory audits.

D. Operations, Inventory, and Facility Management

1. Monitors inventory and availability of dialysis consumables, emergency drugs, and medical supplies; approves requisitions.
2. Ensures proper functioning, preventive maintenance, and calibration of all dialysis machines, water treatment system, and other medical equipment in coordination with dialysis technicians.
3. Monitors key performance indicators (KPIs) such as adequacy of dialysis, infection rates, hospitalization rates, and patient satisfaction.
4. Prepares and submits regular census, clinical, and operational reports to management.

III. QUALIFICATIONS

1. Registered Nurse with valid and active PRC License.
2. Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Master of Arts in Nursing / Master in Nursing Management is an advantage.
3. With at least 3-5 years of progressive clinical experience in Hemodialysis, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
4. Completed Training Course for Hemodialysis Nurses (Basic and Advanced) accredited by BON/ANPHI.
5. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
6. In-depth knowledge of DOH Regulations for Dialysis Facilities, PhilHealth Hemodialysis Package, Renal Nursing Standards, and Quality Management.
7. Strong leadership, critical thinking, decision-making, communication, and organizational skills.
8. Willing to be assigned in Eastern Pangasinan
