Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience in healthcare accounts receivable, insurance follow-up, or denial management.
• Hands-on experience with both commercial and governmental payers.
• Knowledge of corrected claims, appeals, payer billing requirements, and timely filing limits.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to investigate claim issues, prioritize outstanding accounts, and work toward timely resolution.

Responsibilities

• Examine accounts receivable aging reports and follow up on outstanding insurance claims.
• Prepare and submit corrected claims, ensuring accuracy and payer compliance.
• Contact insurance carriers to check claim status and address delays.
• Resolve denied and rejected claims by researching reasons and filing appeals.
• Gather supporting documentation with billing, coding, and clinical teams to address discrepancies.
• Resolve claims held in pre-submission queues.
• Identify recurring denial patterns and recommend process improvements.
• Keep accurate records of follow-ups, payer communications, and outcomes.
• Adhere to insurance regulations, payer guidelines, and internal policies.
