Job summary

Metrobank seeks an experienced Senior Officer in Finance & Control to lead accounts payable and related processes at Metrobank Center, BGC, Taguig City. You will drive efficiency, strengthen controls, and oversee vendor management within a dynamic banking environment.

The role requires 8+ years in finance, 5+ years in leadership, ERP expertise, and strong communication skills to guide teams and execs toward accurate reporting and strategic budgeting.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting/finance with CPA advantageous (not mandatory).
• Minimum eight years in accounts payable/finance, with 5+ years in leadership.
• ERP experience and strong knowledge of accounting standards and taxation.
• Proven track record in process improvement, controls, and vendor management.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills; capable of building high-performance teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive compliant processing of vendor payments and reimbursements, with timely accuracy.
• Strengthen internal controls and vendor relationships; support financial reporting.
• Lead process improvements to reduce aging payables/receivables and improve reports.
• Oversee safekeeping of IHFS under Securities Custodian.
• Ensure budget oversight aligns resources with growth objectives.

Job Summary

• Drive operational excellence and strategic financial management by ensuring efficient, accurate, timely, and compliant processing of vendor payments, expense reimbursements, and related transactions
• Strengthen internal controls, enhance vendor relationships, and support the Bank’s financial reporting requirements. Maximize ROPA (Real and other Properties Acquired) recovery and profitability through effective sales and leasing collections, and provide timely, accurate reports to AAMDD (Acquired Asset Management & Disposition Division) for informed decision‑making
• Lead initiatives to streamline processes, reduce aging payables and receivables, and improve reporting accuracy
• Oversee the safekeeping of Items Held for Safekeeping (IHFS) under the Securities Custodian function
• Ensure strategic budget oversight to align resources with the Bank’s growth objectives and enhance organizational performance

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA an advantage
• Master’s Degree preferred but not required
• Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in Accounts Payable/Finance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, and financial systems (ERP experience required
• Proven track record in process improvement, controls and vendor management
• Strong executive competencies in the areas of executive and leadership development, managerial coaching and mentoring, and situational assessment skills with proven track records in building and developing high-performance teams
• Strong executive acumen in setting corporate directions and aligning strategic goals around business plans
• With superior judgment, negotiation, and decision-making skills
• With strong analytical skills and adept in interpreting strategic vision into an operational mode
• Must be an effective communicator at all levels in the organization, with strong oral, written, and effective presentation skills
